Updated October 17, 2026. This app is operated as part of Ryan Scott’s portfolio.
We request browser location only after you press “Use my location.” When you search, Photon receives your typed city, ZIP, or address, or the coordinates you chose to provide. Your browser then reads city listings and candidate menus directly from AllMenus. These services receive normal network-request data, including your IP address. Requests omit credentials. Parsed responses have a bounded, temporary in-memory cache that disappears on reload. Exact user coordinates and typed searches are not saved in settings or meal history.
Local browser storage holds budget, party size, radius, adventure and dining preferences, favorites, exclusions, cuisine opinions, and a limited interaction history. Only “We ate here” saves a completed meal: restaurant name and ID, selected item names and unit prices, planned total, party size, and time. Older provider-ID-only visits remain separate from these new meal records. There is no account, analytics tracking, or cloud history sync.
GitHub Pages serves the application. Photon and AllMenus process location and menu requests under their respective policies. Directions and source menu links open external services when you choose them. Normal live mode does not send discovery through Google Places or a Cloudflare Worker.
Photon is operated by komoot using OpenStreetMap data. See also AllMenus and GitHub’s privacy statement.
Decline browser location and type an area instead. Use Preferences → Clear my local data to remove this app’s records. Browser site-data controls also remove installed shell files. Shell caching never stores external location or menu responses. Contact ryanscottcareer@gmail.com with privacy questions.
Only an explicitly selected Google mode sends your chosen location through the configured Cloudflare Worker to Google Geocoding/Places. Its key remains server-side. Google venue/geocode content stays transient; saved visits keep Place IDs and your selected AllMenus order. See the Google Privacy Policy and Cloudflare privacy policy. Normal live mode uses Photon and AllMenus.
